Boyer Brothers was founded by brothers Bill and Bob Boyer in 1936. The company initially produced nut raisin clusters and homemade fudge sold door to door. In the late 1930s, Boyer became notable for their Mallo Cups, the cup shaped candy with a whipped marshmallow creme centre covered with chocolate. Boyer still operates out of its origibnal plant in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
Today, popular Boyer candies include Boyer Mallo Cups, Boyer Smoothies (Smoothies consist of a peanut butter centre covered with rich butterscotch confection) and Boyer Peanut Butter Cups (a peanut butter centre covered with chocolate).
Boyer products include 'coins' printed on the cardboard package insert. These 'coins' are collectible and redeemable for prizes from the Boyer catalogue
